Description B-1 visitor visa is for foreign nationals wishing to visit the U.S.A. for business purposes. Persons from certain eligible countries may also be able to visit the U.S.A. without a visa on the Visa Waiver Pilot Program. Please see below for a list of these countries. Requirements
The main requirements for the B-1 visa are that
- The purpose of the trip is
to enter the U.S.A. for business.
- The foreign
national plans
to remain for a specific, limited
period
in the U.S.A and
- The
foreign national has a residence
outside the U.S.A.
and other binding
ties
which will insure return abroad
at
the end
of the
visit.
Family members
The spouse and minor, dependent children
of the B-1 holder may be entitled to
visitor visas valid for the same amount
of time as
the B-1 holder. Visa waiver pilot program.
Travelers coming to the U.S.A. for tourism or business for 90 days or less from qualified countries may be eligible to visit the U.S.A. without a visa.

Visitors entering
on the Visa Waiver Pilot Program cannot
work or study
while in the U.S.A. and cannot
stay longer than 90 days or change
their status to another
category.
Duration of Visa B-1 visa is generally valid for a six month visit, and can be extended for an additional six months, for a total of one year in B-1 status.
